Extensive Interior Remodel in Crestwood
Sometimes you don’t need to see your house – or even meet your contractor – to end up with a wonderful new home. When New City was referred to the client for this project from a prominent local Realtor, it was clear that this one was going to be a bit unusual.
The clients for this project were both Americans stationed overseas in the foreign service. With the help of their Realtor, they had contracted to purchase a Crestwood home in need of updating – without ever visiting it in person. New City visited the home to assess its current condition, and, along with input from the clients and their interior designer, we developed the scope of work for the project, which included extensive interior updates. We reconfigured the attic level bedrooms and the basement, converted a screened porch to finished space, gutted and rebuilt four bathrooms, updated the kitchen, and generally freshened every corner of the home.
During the process, the clients were kept up to date with project progress using our online project management system and Skype calls. It was only in the final weeks of the project when the clients relocated back to DC, and we finally had the opportunity to meet them in person.
